FVRV8 2010

99% Scratch Made

FVRV8 2010 was started back in late December 2009 for a planned release of the 20th February 2010 to celebrate the start of the 2010 V8 Supercars Series. We undertook to give FVRV8 a major work over as try to do each year, this included all new models, skins and physics. We felt the physics needed some work and to include features that we had previously neglected to use, this is not to say it has made it harder to drive, we still feel that cars had a good feel, we just needed to improve that feel which our testers have said we have achieved. We listened to our FVR Forum users that have provided us with list of what’s required and we feel that we have certainly come close to giving everyone that likes FVRV8’s a better FVRV8 ride. Our resident paintaholic has also once again excelled to give us a full field of cars with all the extra paintable objects in an even shorter time frame than last year. We still have a few updates for it which we will include once we have a bit more info. Now some people won't like it and thats cool - its not for them anyway. Its simple to delete anyway.

This revision D has various worked files especially the physics.

We have fixed the track setups section. We have put an endurance, sprint and a normal level in so that you can alter the final diff or you can select a fixed setup from the the menu. When we say setup - it means locked diff and tyres. You still have to make setup changes to get the most from the cars.

This version will install v1.6D whilst retaining the v1.6B physics for anyone running a series with the unreleased B version. By choosing a different rFm you have the choice of either the older version or the newer version with enhancements. We have taken this into consideration as we know some series have already started. If you still use the 1.6B version on a server, you will not get any of the new enhancements. You must have 1.6B already installed though for this to work.

We have fixed the AI being too slow.

Thanks to ISI for creating rFactor

Ferret40 - his painting efforts are appreciated - especially the countless hours
dBens1 - for countless hours on the physics and related files

Everyone that provided input at FVRFactor Forums including fault finding and stuff. I haven't fixed the door handles at this stage.

Michael Patrizi for his detailed discussion on what a V8 Supercar feels like and how it should feel. No he didn't drive this version.

The remaining V8Supercar drivers that I spoke with at Redbank Plaza during our driver signing and the drivers that provided feedback and input at
Simulator Raceway Townsville and High Octane Archerfield.

Do not copy, mutilate, change without written consent.
Not for public display unless authorised by FVR in writing, in other words no claiming you made it and use it at track displays.

Version 1.6D also includes a new suspension layout, to bring the cars more in line with a V8 Supercar. There is a a revised layout in both the front and back of the cars. There are revised tyre compounds and updated engine specs to hopefully make the cars even more realistic. I have also updated the rear boot cam

Thanks to VLGroupA, for his assistance with tyres, engine work and helping me find all my typing errors.

Also thanks to the guys who helped me to test the suspension layouts (in no particular order):

Sinbad007, Adubz, Bleddyn, DVR8, David Sprigings, V8Skinner, Lachlan McConnell

Sorry if i have forgotten anyone (or I drove you mad with endless test updates)

Once again thanks to everyone for their constructive feedback.

If you want to join us for simple chats or find out what we are doing for the community, feel free to drop in to our forums at FVRFactor.com and see the progress on our tracks for the V8 Supercars series.

If you wish to make a donation to say thanks for all that hard work we try to do we would never say no

  • r1cho : hi from r1cho mad v8 fan
  • FlashQld : If you have issues with the tracks, go inside the forums as we have fixes posted in there. Once again the front page is rarely viewed by us as its not a forum.
  • FlashQld : We have had rFactor tracks for months now, Hamilton, Townsville, Gold Coast and Sydney to name a few. They come out for rFactor first then are slowly converted for the others. If you are just interested in file sponging then you've come to the worng place but if you are interested in the development then this is the place but we don't just put them on the front page for everyone to grab.
  • hammie334 : when will some Rfactor tracks come
  • FlashQld : Guys - the reason we have aforum is to fault find and fix, much better than on the front page of our website. Most of us don't readthis very often. If you look in the forums this is being addressed.
  • Nibiru : I just tried joining my server with Gold Coast and had the same problem
  • emerico : if i unzip a wrong folder, this not working offline, but these tracks works offline, only with online work is problem
  • Nibiru : Make sure the track is sitting in the correct folder
  • emerico : the GTR Evolution track aren't working online. if i start a server with these tracks i have a erros message when i try join. "inconpatible game version"... sidney is ok, this working, but Hamilton, Surfers Paradise are wrong. please help
  • william : Hey Flash what was the map site u used that u can change date on?
  • KampferAs : boo!
  • Chronus : Well, then, I gotta find a way of helping you guys out.
  • FlashQld : Thats the only way that donations can be done mate
  • Chronus : FlashQld, would you mind a suggestion? Can you enable Donations via PayPal?
  • FlashQld : If its not in the downloads section then its in the forums. If its in the forums, read the New Users section.
  • Nibiru : From the download section
  • murdock : where do i download the v8s from
  • dbens1 : No hammie334 the FVR skins cannot be used for V8factor. The models and templates are different. Cool
